Each year cadets have the opportunity to apply for summer training courses. These courses offer experience in flying, fitness, leadership, survival, music and more.
Please review the available courses and come prepared to sign up for your top 3 choices next week.
Cadets in their first year only have one course option – General training course.
Note – If you are a new recruit over the age of 13 we will be accelerating you into the appropriate training level when you complete your recruit training. As such, please review the intermediate courses.

SUMMER TRAINING
What do teenagers working hard, having fun and earning money have in common? These are all perks for senior cadets under advanced training at cadet summer training centres across Canada.
Courses offered at Air Cadet summer training camps include training in leadership, flying, fitness and sports, survival, military band, pipe band, aerospace, aviation technology, and marksmanship. The courses offered include familiarization, basic, advanced, and national summer training courses.

Staff Cadet Opportunities (Advanced Training)
Staff cadets are the NCOs of the Summer Training Centres. A staff
cadet can assist the officer staff with the instruction and supervision
of cadets, or might be tasked in an administrative or logistical
support role. Rank and pay for staff cadets depend upon the
position; this is usually determined during a pre-course training and
evaluation period. A staff cadet applicant must be at least 16 on
1 Jan 13.
- *National Courses
- Cadets are selected for a National course by a board comprised of officials from
- the Air Cadet League of Canada and officers appointed by the Regional Cadet Support Unit.
- Selections for these courses follow strict criteria that consider
length of cadet service, rank, training level, previous summer
training, school marks, general knowledge, dress, deportment,
motivation, interest and aptitude. In order to evaluate these
attributes, cadets must submit a one-page written narrative, a copy
of their school transcript, copies of their cadet training record and
previous CSTC course report(s). Further, some courses require
attending an interview board, and successfully passing a qualifying
examination.
