Spring FTX

Event: Spring Field Training Exercise
Classification: Mandatory and Complimentary Training
Purpose: To conduct practical, mandatory and complimentary leadership, aircrew and other training in a field environment while building morale and esprit de corps.
Details: LIMITED number of spaces exist for this FTX and it will be primarily funded from Local FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES led by the Squadron Sponsoring Committee. Priority will be afforded to those cadets who have supported fundraising activities as this is not mandatory training that is directly supported by DND/CJRC.
Start Time
Friday, 10 May 2024 – Cadets should arrive between 1700 to 1730 at Armoury.
Return Time Sunday, 12 May 2024 @1200h.
Location: All cadets will arrive and depart from the Armoury. Field Training will be held at Blue Spring Scout Reserve, near Rockwood, ON.
Transportation:
Personal to/from the Armoury School bus from Armoury to Camp and back* TBC If buses are not available, we will be looking for parental support and assistance with carpooling as not all our cadets have rides available. Details to follow.
Dress: Cadets may wear FTU IAW cadet dress regulations, including parka and other outer wear to enable the cadet to train outdoors in all weather conditions. Otherwise, suitable civilian clothing, that is weather appropriate may be worn.
Accommodations: Cadets will be sleeping in personal tents. Cadets are encouraged to team up with peers who have tents that they can bring. All cadets with tents should ensure that all pieces are present, the tent is in good repair and the cadet is capable of erecting and tearing down and packing the tent after use prior to the exercise.
Messing: Cadets will be provided military rations for all meals except supper on Saturday which will be fresh rations. Fresh fruit and vegetables will be provided throughout the weekend as snacks.
