More info here for cadets participating in the annual Thanksgiving Oktoberfest Parade in KW.

( Cadets from other units will be there as well )

 

 

Timings:

 

0645 – meet at Church ( location below)

0700h – receive position in parade, get changed.   ( you can leave backpack at church)

0800h – Marshall will begin positioning cadets along parade

0830h – Parade steps off.

0930h – Start of parade will get to end.

1000h – First busses transport teams back to church.

1100h – Parade ends ( approx. time)

1200h – All cadets should be back to church by this time for pick up.   ( the earlier they carry a sign, the earlier they will be done. )

 

 

 

 

Clothing:

Cadets will NOT be in cadet uniform.

Sign & Flag carriers will be required to wear German Tracht (i.e. dirndl or lederhosen) while other students may be required to wear clown costumes. All costumes and Tracht will be provided by Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest.  All provided costumes MUST be returned at the end of the parade. Please leave valuables at home to avoid loss. You may bring a backpack or bag to store your outer clothing, which will be kept at the gathering spot.

 

Recommended to wear ( to go with what you’ll be issued):

 

• Beige or white tights
• White knee socks (girls)
• Grey knee socks (boys)
• White, plain blouse (plain, no design – short or long sleeve)
• Good walking shoes
• Plain white gloves or mitts

( her are some 296 Cadets ready to hit parade.   Rem- the dresses, dirndl, lederhosen and such were provided.  But if you have your own?   Bring it! )

 

Details for Parade Day Morning;

Volunteers are required to be at Church of the Good Shepard, 116 Queen Street N between 6:45-7:00am for registration.   Cadets must have completed permission form with them.

 

Volunteers will get changed into their appropriate costumes.

 

Parade Marshalls will pick up volunteers in small groups to guide them to the start of the parade.

 

The Marshall will stay with their group throughout the parade.
