Further details :
Saturday morning we need 40 cadets to help with the cleanup at Lisaard House. This is a community outreach events for 296 Squadron, and a tremendous opportunity for cadets to get involved. This will also allow the remaining cadets in the squadron to complete their community service for the year.
This is a tremendous facility, providing support and comfort to people with Cancer. As part of the performance objective for community service, and in keeping with the Squadrons long history of service to the surrounding area – we’ll be there on Saturday 04 May 2019 doing a cleanup project outside.
We welcome all cadets available that day – its a great way to get dirty, have some fun and make some high school volunteer hours. ( We are aware the Band has a practice in the afternoon – and if they wish to come out for from 8-11 so they have time to get to their practice – we encourage them to attend)
Several cadets have not completed their community service this training year – a mandatory requirement to pass. This will be the final opportunity this training year to complete community service with the squadron. Their names are highlighted on the nominal roll for the event.
Time: Saturday 04 May – Event will begin at 0800h. We should be complete and ready to dismiss at approx 1145h.
Dress – cadets should wear clothes they can work in and get dirty. We’ll be digging, painting, planting, and cleaning. We encourage cadets to bring work gloves. (If cadets wish to wear CF environmental clothing ( combats) – they may do so. These must be done in keeping with cadet dress standards – headress, proper top / bottoms, boots, etc)
