Those cadets on the EFFECTIVE SPEAKING TEAM will have their local completion ( the one for the unit) on Wed Evening.

You have been preparing for this, you have your prepared speech ready and memorized. You have practiced and listened to many impromptu speeches, and gone through the steps to make your own presentations.

This will be done on Wed night. The regional competition will be the following weekend. Cadets whom proceed through this Wed night stage will move on to the regional competition. Good luck all.

Dress- Dress for cadets is C3. Blue uniform. Blue shirt with tie under tunic.
Remember ribbons, nametags and your badges should be in place. No medals, no lanyards, white belts or other accouterment.

If you do not have your blue uniform yet, you will wear the highest order of dress you have.

The Air Cadet League has for many years run a nation wide effective speaking competition. Interested cadets can participate ( and that’s assuming the unit has staff able to run this optional part of the program). It helps prepare cadets to review their own personal presentation skills, to work on their writing and persuasion in their own prepared speech, as well as to quickly think on their feet during the impromptu speech portion ( where they are given a topic and have a very limited time to prepare)

Cadets whom have completed their speeches can join the rest of the sqn for uniform night.
