Lisaard House Cleanup
May 13, 2017 @ 8:30 am - 11:55 am
Saturday morning we need 30 cadets to help with the cleanup at Lisaard House. This is a community outreach events for 296 Squadron, and a tremendous opportunity for cadets to get involved.
( The cadets in the Band and Drill Team will be away this morning competing in London – so the cadets who are not in the band and drill team will have to step up- that’s still more than 60 cadets available for the Lisaard house event. )
This is a tremendous facility, providing support and comfort to people with Cancer. As part of the performance objective for community service, and in keeping with the Squadrons long history of service to the surrounding area – we’ll be there on Saturday 13 May 2017 doing a cleanup project outside.
We welcome all cadets available that day – its a great way to get dirty, have some fun and make some high school volunteer hours. ( this is also the morning of the Band and Drill competition – a busy day for the Sqn) Those cadets not attending the band and drill competitions are encouraged to participate.
Several cadets have not completed their community service this training year – a mandatory requirement to pass. This will be the final opportunity this training year to complete community service with the squadron.
Time: Saturday 13 May – Event will begin at 0830h. We should be complete and ready to dismiss at 1200h.
Dress – cadets should wear clothes they can work in and get dirty. We’ll be digging, painting, planting, and cleaning. We encourage cadets to bring work gloves.
Location – Parents should plan to drop off and pick up at Lisaard House. it is located on 990 Speedsvale Road in Cambridge, across from the Arriscraft factory.
Support – Water and snacks will be provided for a break during the day.
