296 City of Cambridge RC(Air)CS Tag Weekend

296 Squadron holds 2 Tag Day weekends each a Training Year.  Tagging is the Squadrons largest fundraiser.  The funds raised from Tag Days allow the Squadron to hold extra events such as the spring and fall FTX weekends, NCO Mess dinners and Fun nights. These are not paid for by the Department of National Defence.

It is mandatory for you come out to 3 of 5 sessions.  Attendance for FTX weekends will be dependent on your attendance during Tag Weekend.  If you are able to attend all 5 Tag sessions please do.  If you are unable to attend 3 sessions, you are to provide a memo addressed to the CO stating the reason why you are unable to attend prior to Tag Weekend.

Dates and Times:

Thursday – 1700 for 1730 – 2100

Friday– 1700 for 1730 – 2100

Saturday – Early (Market double shift) 0630 for 0700 – 1300

Saturday– 0900 for 0930 – 1300

Saturday – 1330 for 1400 – 1800

Sunday – 0800-1200 –

* Lunch will be served for those doing both Saturday shifts.

Dress:  Dress shirt and Tie, Boots, Tunic, Pants, Wedge

* Overcoat or Parka & black gloves and black umbrella for inclement weather.

All uniforms are to be worn to a high standard as personal appearance is critical to success.

Tagging is also an excellent form of public relations and recruiting.  You are representing the Squadron and Yourself.  You must always be on your best behavior and always look and act professional.  When you are approaching someone be polite. Simply ask if they would like to sponsor 296 ‘City of Cambridge’ Air Cadets.  Always say ‘Thank-you’ even if they do not want to sponsor.  SMILE!
